Mystery Gifts in Pokemon Violet can be obtained by either entering codes or downloading them through the internet. An internet connection is required for both methods, and the good news is that a Nintendo Switch Online membership is not necessary.
- Open the menu and scroll to the Poké Portal.

When to Expect New Mystery Gift Codes:
New Mystery Gift codes are typically released during promotions, expos, anime episode premieres, Pokemon showcases, collaborations, special announcements, and official tournaments. The Pokemon Company communicates these codes through their official channels, giving players advance notice of upcoming releases.
As of now, a Master Ball Mystery Gift is available through the “Get via Internet” option until January 3, 2024, in celebration of the release of Pokémon Violet DLC: The Indigo Disk. Additionally, a compensation Mystery Gift for x10 Metal Sound TMs is accessible through the “Get via Internet” option due to a bug preventing some players from obtaining the required Shieldon items to craft the Metal Sound TM.
